STEMs, Buds & Blooms is a recurring interview series based on learning about the women in STEM and their lives outside of it. These field notes aim to expand the idea of the woman in stem by spotlighting community & opportunity alongside achievements in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math, and give our readers broader space to imagine their future.

EcoLogik Institute will be supporting five scientific research and communications internship positions this summer through the Scientist's in Parks, NPS Academy, and MOSAICs programs. Students of backgrounds traditionally underrepresented in STEM are especially encouraged to apply.  

APPLY TODAY » Two NPS Academy members in 2025 will play a crucial role in supporting Cabrillo National Monument's (CABR) free STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) summer camp for girls aged 10-16, held in collaboration with our nonprofit partner, The EcoLogik Institute.

On Saturday, November 9th, from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Fleet Science Center in Balboa Park, the EcoLogik Institute is excited to launch its workshop series in collaboration with BEWISE. The STEAM Studio workshop, made possible through funding from Forever Balboa Park, will focus on the art of storytelling through the dynamic medium of COMICS! Participants will delve into various conservation themes related to Balboa Park and receive a customized educational tutorial on comic creation from our esteemed partner, Little Fish Studio.

In September 2024, apprentice Claire W. and I got the opportunity and privilege to speak to the Environmental Educator Leaders Network (EELN) about the EcoLogik Institute. In this blog, I’m going to share my experience and what the EELN network is. While I taught the EELN network all about Ecologik, I also learned quite a bit about what a strong speech looks like.
