About The Program
The Conservation and Environmental Stewardship Apprenticeship Program (CESAP) is a workforce pathway program designed to connect youth with their national parks, park projects, and park staff. Apprentices work collaboratively to design solutions to real challenges facing their local park, providing meaningful career exposure and the opportunity to build leadership, problem-solving, and stewardship skills.
How To Participate
Youth aged 13-18 are invited to apply to the Conservation and Environmental Stewardship Apprenticeship Program (CESAP).
If selected, apprentices will have the opportunity to:
Participate in a design thinking workshop to find solutions to challenges that National Parks face
Become involved in National Park projects
Speak publicly and in the media
Grow teamwork and leadership skills
Learn from National Park Rangers and community partners and join a mentorship program
Form community with like-minded youth and adults
Explore public lands career pathways
Must be 13-18 years of age
Requirements
Must be able to meet AT LEAST once a week, either in-person, online, or both (frequency dependent upon the specific park-project)
Must be an active participant who is enthusiastic about learning, National Parks, and service
Must be willing to commit AT LEAST 3 hours to their apprenticeship per week (illness, holidays, and other exceptions apply)
